About the Author

As a 3rd Generation Native Floridian, I have had the privilege of experiencing much of what the Sunshine State has to offer. If you were to drive from Pensacola to Key West, it would take you more than 13 hours to reach your destination. However, life has provided our family with the opportunity to slow down and enjoy life in the various regions of our state.

Born in the '70s, I grew up in the Florida Panhandle spending most of my time outdoors exploring nature and soaking up the sun. With a career connecting me to Central Florida's environment, I gained even more knowledge and appreciation for the different regions of the state. My insights come from early life in the Panhandle, followed by raising a family in Central Florida, and our next generation connections to Florida's theme parks and life in the Florida Keys. As a Floridian, I have explored much of the state and am happy to share our family's Florida Native Life insights with you.

Ancestors

As native Floridians, meaning born and raised in Florida, my family appreciated living and vacationing in paradise. With over 1,350 miles of shoreline in Florida, we often relaxed and played where water was within sight. From reunions held at Big Lagoon State Park, days sunning on Pensacola Beach, exploring the history of Fort Pickens and the Naval Air Museum, oystering in Apalachicola, visiting local swimming holes, canoeing down Blackwater River, fishing in the rivers and streams, and even exploring water dripping inside Florida Caverns.

Next Generation

Our family's 4th Generation of Native Floridians have had the opportunity to explore the diverse attractions of Central Florida, including theme parks, arts, and sporting events. As a result, we have gained extensive knowledge about the region's entertainment and environment. Our children have chosen to stay rooted in Florida, and our youngest generation enjoys life experiences from Orlando to Key West.
